The law of cause and effect states that for every effect, there is an equal and adequate cause. If we plant a dandelion seed, a dandelion will grow. We can’t plant a dandelion seed and expect a rose to grow from it. The dandelion had to follow certain universal laws. If we exercise our bodies, we will grow stronger and healthier, if we eat too much we gain weight and if we think good thoughts we will attract good things to us. If we think negative thoughts, we will eventually attract unfavorable conditions to us.
Consider the law of cause and effect in nature. Trees produce chlorophyll, which allows the tree to absorb sunlight. The chlorophyll uses the sunlight to turn water and carbon dioxide into carbohydrates, which the tree needs to grow. Rain allows flowers to grow, bees allow flowers to reproduce. Many create a compost pile from leftovers, peelings and spoils, this eventually gets used as a soil fertilizer in gardening, which in turn grows healthier vegetables, and the cause and effect cycle begins once again.
Empowerment also follows the law of cause and effect. In order to heal someone, we must treat the cause of the illness, not the effect. For instance, if a client has recurring headaches, giving them aspirin to relieve the pain might prove immediate relief, but it is not preventing the headache to begin with. The headache may occur again and again. To prevent this, we need to find the source or the cause of the headache in order to heal the headache. Perhaps the client is under a great amount of stress because of their faulty thinking. We need to treat the thought so the headaches will not recur.
Thoughts follow the law of cause and effect even if you are not aware of having them. Therefore, every time you have a thought, aware or not, your subconscious mind will record that thought just as easily as a tape recorder will record your vice. That thought will stay in your subconscious mind until it is erased by a positive thought that counteracts or cancels out the negative thought.
You can see why it is so important to choose quality thoughts. Scientists now know that thoughts are energy. Each time we have a thought, an energy field is generated. Our cells react to the thought just as easily as if it were an action we performed. For instance, if we worry or think we are going to fail a test, chemical processes fire in our cells as if we had already failed the test. By thinking we are going to fail, we generated the emotion of failure and our cells react accordingly.
How to feel one with the Universe
The Universe is a vast omnipotent power, created from pure energy and we are a small speck of this power, and yet no less powerful than the whole. Imagine the entire Universe as one huge body that contains everything in it, and you are one of its cells. Picture this enormous mass that is powerfully omnipotent and you as this tiny cell have this enormous job to do, to keep this infinite body whole! You may be a small cell but you are a very powerful cell. It took tremendous power to create the Universe, the stars, the trees, the ocean or any other number of glorious things.
Our thoughts as energy have tremendous power, that which is true of the Universe is also true of man.
Consider this: as humans we have trillions of cells in our bodies and yet, we know nothing about how to coordinate them to work together and keep our bodies running smoothly. If you owned an island and a trillion people lived on it, could you imagine what it would be like to keep peace on the island if you were the only one in charge of running it? It would be total chaos and yet, our bodies seem to know from second to second how to run smoothly. What is behind this miracle? Call it God, Universal Intelligence, Infinite Intelligence, or Divine Wisdom; they all mean the same thing. It is this Universal intelligence, the omnipotent power that created the universe. Think of the perfection of a sunrise, a beautiful forest, or a mother holding her new born baby for the very first time, this is infinite intelligence at work.
In order to empower our selves, we need to realize that because we are a part of this creation, we also possess omnipotent powers. The only difference is we have forgotten that we are part of everything in this Universe and there is a power to tap into anytime we need to. Now is the time to remember this, to believe this, and even more important, to KNOW this.
Can you think of a time when something you did just went smoothly without you putting too much effort into it?
Or how about a time when you know you were right about something but you didn't know how you knew it?
Did you ever pray and receive an answer or receive a wish?
Did you ever have a lucky break?
This is all evidence of alignment at work. Believe, trust, love, remember, and learn to let go. Everything you need, is already yours.
We tap into this power by changing our thoughts. Thoughts can heal and thoughts can destroy. The higher our thoughts, the greater our manifestation will be. We must focus our attention on good thoughts and steer away from focusing on our weaknesses, for what we focus on today will come to pass. The negative thought we have today can manifest itself next year and we won’t even remember where it came from. If you continually focus on your past mistakes, you will never be free of them, for that which you focus on, you receive.
If you keep thinking about the people who hurt you in the past, you are recreating that energy and brining it into the present, making it likely that you will meet the same type of people who will hurt you. We need to learn to forgive those who have hurt us and realize they can only do what they are capable of doing given their own circumstances in life. Think about the good experiences that happened in the past so you can bring that good energy into the present.
We are fully responsible for everything, good or bad, that happens to us. We need to change our thoughts to bring a healthy pattern to our lives. If you are used to thinking in a negative way, make it a priority to devote a portion of your day to zapping these negative thoughts out of your subconscious and conscious mind and replace them with the positive.
Eventually these old negative tapes will disappear and you will start to feel blissful more frequently, until you reach a point where you forget what life was like when you were struggling and unhappy. You will look at your life and realize that a lot of the same people are in it, you may live in the same house, work at the same job, but your perspective will have changed. You will see the good in all that life has to offer. It can be done. It will be done, and it is so.
Sometimes, negative thoughts are like a bad habit and we are not always aware we are having them. They are like an old tape continuously playing in the background. This doesn’t matter to our subconscious mind because energy flows to the focus of attention and from this day forward, you can choose to place positive thoughts indoor focus of attention rather than destructive thoughts.
Exercise : Clearing negative thoughts
To clear your mind of negative thoughts practice sitting in silence for a few minutes each day and listen to the thoughts bouncing around in your head. Choose a quiet time of day when you won’t be disturbed. Shut the phone off if you can, and take a few deep breaths. Focus on the air going in and out of your lunges, and as you focus on your breath you will catch yourself thinking of other things besides your breath. Allow your mind to wander and listen to what it is thinking. Notice if there are any negative thoughts floating by. Practicing this exercise for a week or more will help you be more aware of your negative thoughts. Once aware of them, you can let them go by imagining them floating away, far up into the sky until you can’t see them anymore, or you can cancel them out by thinking a positive thought in their place.
Remember, this Infinite Intelligence is always flowing through our minds and helps manifest those thoughts we bring to our attention most often. If you are a habitual negative thinker you can decide today to become a habitual positive thinker. Many people believe saying affirmations will help them get what they want.
It’s not enough to say the affirmation, “I am healthy and wealthy in every way” because if your mind is used to running negative tapes as you say that particular affirmation your mind could be saying in the background, “This just isn’t true,” or “I am not healthy and wealthy.” This is why we need to be aware of those deeper thoughts that occupy our minds.
Many understand how powerful thoughts are but have never worked on sifting out those unknown thoughts; the thoughts or tapes that run over and over again in our minds, programming our actions and life.
Exercise : Developing positive habits
To become a habitual positive thinker, reflect on your past and write down in a journal all the positive events you can remember. Think of everyone you know and try to remember something they did or said that made you feel good. Think of your teachers or classmates in grade school, or high school graduation, and try to find something pleasant about that day.
When you reflect on the past, do you have good memories or bad?
Energy never dies. It transforms but never dies. Thoughts are energy. Every time you think about the negative events of your past, you are bringing that negative energy into the present and reliving it. It will always be with you. This explains why we hear about people who make the same mistakes over and over again like the woman who married an abusive husband for the second time. They have not let of the past. They can’t let go of the lack of self-esteem that has controlled their life for so long.
How do you forget the past? How do you leave the past behind? If you want to think of the past, then dwell on the good things that have happened to you Think about your accomplishments. Think about a person who made you smile or made you feel safe. Try to remember every instance where you had a positive experience and write them down.
Make a long list of pleasant events and once a day, morning or evening, or any moment you can find quiet time for reflection, open your journal and read one of those events. Select one to reflect on for a minute or two each night. This will train your mind over time to focus on the good.
An oak tree is brought into creation not only by the acorn itself but also by the future tree which wants so badly to exist that it pulls the acorn into being.
The mind needs to be trained to think positive, just as someone who must take lessons if they want to learn to play an instrument. You have to set aside a certain amount of time to practice playing if you want to be a good musician. It is no different with the mind. This is also a good way to break free from a negative addiction such as smoking, drinking or overeating. Simply replace it with a positive addiction. Find something in your life that you can feel as passionate about as you do with your negative addiction and do it everyday. Eventually, your new activity will replace your old worn out habits.
We all have a desire to raise our consciousness to higher levels. Probe your mind for any lower thoughts, such as anger, hatred, envy, self-pity, doubts or fears. Get rid of them and let your mind be filled with thoughts of your unlimited power. Realize always that you are what you think at all times. Remember there is tremendous power in your thoughts. This is repeated in the lesson because it is so important. Learn to forgive those who hurt you.
Realize that they are not as spiritually evolved as you are so rather than hate them for it, which will only generate more negative energy, send them love instead. It may be the only love they will ever feel. Help them to open up their hearts and maybe they will learn to be more kind to themselves. Refrain from speaking in a negative way about others. It’s easy for us to judge and criticize another. Realize that the infinite does not see imperfection. We must learn to see others through the infinites perspective, as perfect beings of love. We must raise our consciousness to the consciousness of the infinite.
In order to empower, we must get to the point where we truly know what we are talking about and not let doubts or fears enter into our minds. We need to truly know - not just believe that we have the ability to heal. We need to know that our minds are completely obedient to our subconscious mind and come to an understanding that a healing is a release of the highest thought one can have about a person with the assurance that infinite mind will take care of the rest.
Dent the existence of sickness, and it will cease to exist. We came into this works as perfectly innocent, human beings. All we need to do is remember this and live it once again. Remember that infinite mind is the knower, it has all the answers for all the problems of the world. It has all the answers. We learned to shut infinite mind out and chose to worry about our jobs, marriage, and life, forgetting that id we can just open ourselves up to the knower, the infinite, all our problems would resolve themselves with the least amount of effort. Stop judging others: stop the hate, the jealousy, the inadequate feelings and all the negative emotions. Practice EVERYDAY having loving thoughts. If you can train your mind to do this, you will be a true healer and never suffer again.
Exercise : Thought pattern control
It’s not easy to be conscious of our thought patterns throughout the day but it is well worth the effort. Choose a day you know you won’t have too many distractions and stop yourself every 15 minutes or so to check in on your thoughts. See if you can catch yourself thinking in a negative way.
List FIVE negative thought patterns you have had.
When or if you do catch yourself, use a word to stop the thought. You can say: STOP, CANCEL or NO. Say it loudly and demanding so your mind knows you are working towards changing it. This exercise should be practiced for at least two weeks although three weeks to three months is even better Training your mind to think differently takes a lot of time and commitment, but the rewards far surpass the effort involved.
Remember, you have been thinking a certain way for years without every really contemplating what type of thoughts you were having. Now you are going to become conscious of it. It is just like riding a bike. You might not do it on the first try but once you learn it, you never forget.
After two weeks of practice, begin practicing this exercise every night before going to bed. Lying down, reflect on your day and try to remember if you had any negative thoughts that day. If the answer is yes, bring them up again and say the word you chose to cancel it out. Eventually, you will train your mind to say only positive words. At this point, you will have cancelled all negativity from your mind. This creates a vacuum that needs to be filled with whatever you choose. Image if everyone had positive thoughts all the time; the world would be a much safer, peaceful, loving environment.
YOU ARE THE CREATOR OF YOUR OWN REALITY, CHOOSE YOUR THOUGHTS, WORDS AND ACTIONS WISELY.
Make a list of FIVE positive thought images you can use to counteract any negativity you allowed to enter your mind.
You can also think of something positive that happened to you in the past. Perhaps you play sports or won a trophy or someone told you they were proud of you or they loved you. Or you experienced magic in the ordinary and it consumed your soul. Think of those positive moments.
You are going to have to bring these into your consciousness at a moments native. If a negative feeling was already created by a negative thought, you want to use these techniques touring yourself back to balance. You can teach this technique to your friends and clients as well. When your mind wants to dwell on something negative from the past, take out your lise and read it. Focus on your list for five to ten minutes a day. eventually, the bad memories of your past will lose their energy and the good memories will dominate your mind.
Making wishes come true
Imagine for a few minutes that you knew 100% without a doubt that a higher power was working through and for you for the highest good of humanity. Close your eyes and really concentrate on this idea.
How do you feel?
Is there anything in your life you would change by knowing this?
Would your life improve?
Would this improve your relationships?
Whenever we try to create a conscious effect, we usually do not accomplish our goals. Too many people push against the natural current of nature; wishing, hoping, and worrying about what they want out of life. In actuality, if they can just realize their goals, the universe will open up to them and flow through them with the least bit of resistance.
Let go of your problems, let go of your doubts and believe that the universe is there for you. It always has been. Without even realizing it, you are the one who closed yourself off from it. It is time to open yourself up just as a flower opens its petals to receive the morning sun, and let it do its job of taking care of you.
Changing our perspective leads to miracles
The following article is from a lecture given by Deepak Chopra. It sums up the recent research done by scientists in the in the field of Quantum Physics. It will show that by creating a minor perceptual shift, we can create our own reality. Please read this article carefully and thoroughly, prior to moving forward.
“Know yourself as the field and the knower of the field.”
Let’s apply this new priceless knowledge to our own lives.
Think of a time you had a fleeting thought about something that came true. By fleeting, I mean, you may have been distracted in some way, perhaps talking to someone or watching television but this new thought came through or this wish came through with almost lightening speed and vanished just as quickly.
It may have been a wish that someone would call, or come to visit. Or perhaps you wished you would do well on an exam or do well in sports. For me, it was a fleeting thought that I wished I had a squirrels a pet. I was watching a TV show and saw a man with a squirrel in his pocket and heard this little voice in my head wish for a pet squirrel. It came into my head at lightening speed and left just as quick and I never gave it another conscious thought about it until weeks later, I walked onto the back patio one morning to enjoy the warmth of the Colorado sun and heard a squeaking noise coming from the bushes just at the base of the tree. The bushes began to move slightly. Lila, my four legged daughter, walked over to the bush, ever so gently, and began sniffing and pushing and hopping with excitement, startled at the loud high pitched squeaking cry coming from this bush. I set my coffee down on the table and walked over to the base of the tree. Instantly, I noticed a little baby squirrel, who, Lila and I decided, must have fallen from one of the branched in the tree. His dehydrated and bruised little body instantly became the newest member of our family, as I rushed into the kitchen and began nursing this squirrel back to health. My fleeting wish, brought to life.
However, if making the wish was my sole focus at the time, it never seemed to have come true. I’ve had many students tell me the same has happened to them. Putting too much effort in the goal, obsessing over a wish, will never bring it to fruition. Love, wishes, dreams… they need to be dreamt, and let go. When it's time, it will come.
Go to the gap, the space in-between, that empty space inside, express your wishes there, then leave them there to marinate, until it’s time. It works!
Try this; clear your mind of everything, for just a moment, then express your wish, whatever it is. Give it time to materialize in your life. If this doesn’t seem to work or you have a tough time, try doing something where your mind is involved, play cards, do math, talk on the phone and then somewhere in between the noise, drop your wish and let is go as fast as it came in. The key is in the letting go.
Exercise : Your wishes realized
For one week, set aside fifteen minutes per day to sit in silence. Many of you can do this for a longer amount of time and if you can then I suggest you do it for thirty minutes per day. Close your eyes and notice any thought that come to mind. Write them in your journal immediately, before you forget them and tell yourself you will deal with them later so you can relax.
Many students of spirituality sit for meditation once a day, however many are following a mediative script or listening to music. The real challenge is to quiet the mind completely. Create a void in the mind, which later can be filled with wishes and dreams. Go into the gap or pure nothingness. When you can do this successfully for fifteen minutes a day, you are ready to ask the universe for what you want.
Meditation exercise.
As you are one with the Universe, you are the thought, you are the sender of the thought, and you are the granter of the thought - the one who allows your dreams to come true.
Remember, the Universe wants to nourish you. It wants you to be happy. All you have to do is allow it.
I was a speck in a huge ocean until one day; I woke up, and realize I was the ocean.
Many will find the first few wishes come true rather quickly but the subsequent wishes take a little longer or are not realized at all. Watch your expectations. You have come to realize your wishes very quickly and now you expect the same results for all your wishes.
Realize some wishes take longer than others. Make yours and let it go. Let it go and give the universe an opportunity to make something happen. Never force it, but keep your intention. Some wishes may never be granted, it’s not part of the plan.
Allow time for the ‘wishing’ skill. Practice the exercises in this chapter and this course diligently and you will manifest your desires quicker, but just as it took time to learn bad habits, it will take time to learn good ones. You are retraining your mind to listen to spirit. Give it time to absorb this new and higher energy. Over time, your frequency levels will rise far enough to make your dreams come true.
Healing our body
Think about this; If we are like a river and changing all the time, sharing everyone else’s atoms and molecules, isn’t it kind of scary to think we are sharing atoms with terrorists and rapists or someone with a chronic disease. Knowing this makes psychic protection seem highly plausible.
If you ever felt like you are the one always getting sick, or catching other people’s colds or illnesses, or even depression, you may be sharing other’s molecules of negativity. You are breathing them in and they are becoming your organs over time! If someone around you thinks in a negative way, if you are not protected, you will suffer for their thoughts! The next chapter covers psychic protection. Be sure to learn all the exercises well to protect your self from negativity. By doing the exercises you will be breathing in more positive molecules and rebuilding your health. The Qigong chapter teaches one to breathe in the positive energies of the Universe. This will keep out all the bad in your life and help you heal that which needs healing.
Exercise : Generate the power to change
If you want to change something in your life, whether it is an illness, a lifestyle, or a new career, use the power inside of you to change.
There are three ways to change, at least in relation to our discussion.
We already covered two. Go into the gap and wish for it, or distract your mind, and wish for it. The third way takes more work but is still very effective and worth considering if the other two methods didn’t work for you.
Formulate your goal, taking into consideration everything you will be when you obtain it. What will you look like, sound like, feel like and think? Where are you when it happens, imagine your surroundings in perfect detail; the smells, colors, temperature, and atmosphere. Who are you with? What are they saying to you? Dont think about how you will obtain it. Keep imagining everything you can possibly think of when you obtain your wish. Really allow yourself to feel it. Immerse yourself in the feeling of this life. This is the key. What would you feel if you had this wish realized already? Continue to bask in this feeling and don’t allow any doubts to enter. It will help tremendously if you do this either when first getting up in the morning or when you are ready to fall asleep.
Allow yourself 10 minutes a day for reflection on this wish. Do this for at least three weeks as you may have heard, it takes three weeks to break any habit. However, it could take one to two months of practice to realize your goal. I have seen students try this and do it in one week, for others it took a bit longer. You are creating your reality by bringing the future into the present. You create your own future by realizing the illusion of time.
For most, when their goal is realized, it seems like a miracle has happened as 90% or more of everything they envisioned came true! the people in their vision said what they imagines them to say, they were in the exact same spot they imagined, and everything unfolded as it should, it is not a miracle however. It is just us remembering and tapping into he power we have inside. The more you practice this, the easier it becomes, so what might have taken a month, will only take a week, or even the time it takes to have a single thought.
Let’s try it now. We are revisiting the list we worked on in the law of choice, exercise #3, repeated below for your convenience. Take your time and be honest. With the knowledge you have gained thus far, select what you believe to be the easiest way to manifest and use the techniques presented in this chapter to make your wishes come true. Practice the exercises everyday until your wish has come true and not how long it took you to realize your wish. Now pick the second easiest wish to obtain and try to once again.
Did it take longer, shorter to the same amount of time to realize your wish? Over time, you will realize your wishes more quickly. Concentrate on at least two wishes right now and save the rest for when you have finished this course. You will see that after practicing all the exercised in the course, the speed your wishes comes true will amaze you! Believe in your power. it is as simple as that!
Repeat of Exercise #3
Things I need to change
How I plan to change them
Exercise : The Gratitude exercise
A simple but highly effective exercise you can add to your daily spiritual practice is a gratitude meditation. I first heard about this while reading a book by Sarah Ban Breathnach called Simple Abundance. She suggests to find private time in the morning or evening to write down 10 things they're grateful for that day. It could be anything from,"I'm grateful I'm alive." To "I'm grateful my husband took out the trash instead of me."
I went to bed that night and tried to think of even one thing, and my mind was blank. I searched my memory for something. Anything! One good thing in my life that day. Still, I came up with nothing. I decided to stop thinking big and choose something such as;"I didn't have a car accident today." "The sun came out." "I have a roof over my head." “There is food in the refrigerator.” However, as I listened to my mind say these thoughts, I immediately would hear a negative thought to counteract the positive thought. For instance, when I thought,"I didn't have a car accident,” I heard myself say, "I need a new car." When I said "the sun came out,"I thought; "if I go out in it, I’ll get cancer eventually." As I said, “I have a roof over my head,"I thought "but it's not mine.” And finally when I said"I have food in the refrigerator, "I heard myself think, “Thank God!”
Three out of four of my thoughts were canceled out because they were followed by negative thought. The light bulb came on in my head at that point because I finally realize how negative I could be. This motivated me to stick with the gratitude exercise. I tried it again and again and each time I heard a negative thought after positive one. I decide if I thought a negative way, it has to be from conditioning for learning how to do it over the years until it became a habit. Worse, it was a habit I wasn't even aware of until then. Many of my family members and friends were also negative thinkers. I figured it is a habit, then to break it, I have to recondition the mind to think positive. Each time I did this gratitude exercise I became better not only finding things to be grateful for work but also with my following the positive thoughts with a negative one. It took about a month before I became proficient at it.
It took four months before I felt some type of change in my life from it. I noticed it became easier to think of my list each night. I've found myself thinking about positive things to add to my list throughout the day. I became a more positive person and more skilled at recognizing negative influences in my life. I noticed the negativity in the people around me more often able to help them get in touch with that side of themselves. I'm very happy with the change, I thought after doing the exercise for over a year I didn't need to do the longer. The change stayed with me throughout my day and I decided to focus on other mind exercises like the one below.
** Now it's your turn. Think of four or more things you are grateful for each day and write them down in a journal. See how many you can come up with and allow time for this exercise to take effect in your psyche.
Be grateful for the people who are responsible for making the coffee pot you use every morning. Be grateful for heat and air conditioning. Be grateful for the car you drive to go to work or the bus you take. Be grateful for the job you have; many people are unemployed. Be grateful for the food you eat and the ability to breathe. How about that toothpaste, we can be grateful for that too.
Exercise : Sitting in love
Another exercise you can incorporate into your daily practice is to sit in the feeling of love. Try to think of someone or something you love. It could be your kids, your spouse, your pets. Anything that makes you feel loved. What you're experiencing this emotion, freeze it! Try to keep it in front of your mind and sit in this wonderful feeling of love. Breathe in. Get the color of pink or lavender. Breeze and this color in. I imagine it is slowing all around you, surround you, and having you with its board. Feel safe, comforted, and secure. Know that you are loved and cared for. Feel the power of love and realize that you are pure mother itself. A lot of compassion will prepare you to love more.
And one last thing before I go, the law of process reminds me of one of my favorite lyrics, “You can’t rush your healing”. In trying to accomplish any goal, don’t rush. Take one step at a time, one day at a time, one moment at a time. Sometimes we, as students of spirituality, become so excited about the process of becoming enlightened we rush right through the good stuff.
Everything will come when it is meant to, when you’re ready.
“When the student is ready, the teacher appears.”
To force the process is to struggle against the currents of life. Too much effort ends up holding you back, pushing you back down the rungs of the ladder.
Think of something in the past that you had to take baby steps in order to reach your goal. Remember school? you went to kindergarten, grade school, then high school and perhaps college. Imagine how hard senior year would have been if you skipped grade school.
Think of some other examples. Personal examples when you have taken the steps to achieve “the thing!”
How does it feel to think about the process involved in completing your goals?
Did you enjoy learning a new skill to achieve your goal or was your mind focused on reaching your goals only?
Over the years, many students have asked, “How can I increase my psychic abilities to raise my frequency to communicate with my Guides and Angel?” This course will absolutely help a student to do that and more, however, the single most important lesson the spiritual student will learn is to “let go”. Let go of the outcome.
Allow your empowerment to unfold in the letting go of the fierce determination to be more or better. Practice. become a better person, inside and out. Enjoy your mediation time, and the feeling of relaxation it gives you. Enjoy all the exercises you do with no focus on the outcome. Just relax and be. Keep your focus in the present time. Focus on the process and the rest will take care of itself. Stay in the present and you will flourish.
